I met Bich and Jonathan for a surprise photo shoot while they were on vacation here in Grand Cayman staying at the Westin- but there just so happened to be a full on tropical storm that same day. Locals, you know this hurricane season was an interesting one! These two were hesitant about moving forward with the shoot at first considering the weather, but we all realized the opportunity to get some photos with a moody and dramatic backdrop! A little different than most destination ‘beachy’ photoshoots! We dove right in – literally and figuratively – and had an awesome time! We may have battled the heavy wind, rain and pesky mosquitoes, but it was so worth it. My lens ended up covered in water (living dangerously) but it allowed for some really artsy shots! I promised them that if it was sunny the next morning we would finish and get that beach session they had been wanting, and thank goodness the sun came out! The couple had so much fun frolicking on the beach and playing in the water. We finished just in time for them to jump on a plane home!

My fiancé surprised me with an engagement photo shoot while we were on vacation celebrating our 10 year anniversary. I had a few hesitations going into the shoot, mainly weather-related because rather than sunny and bright, it was dark, rainy, and stormy. After meeting Jenna, I instantly connected with her. She was warm and kind but most importantly she understood my vision. I wanted a variety of photos — some editorial, some artistic, and some beachy lovey-dovey. Rather than bailing, Jenna reassured us that she would be able to bring my vision to life if we just took a shot at it. I am so glad that we went for it…she did not disappoint!
Jenna was able to use the stormy weather to her advantage and captured beautiful, dramatic, artistic shots in the wind and rain. She was a joy to work with and even got drenched herself along with us in pursuit of the perfect shot. As a cherry on top, Jenna came to our hotel the next morning right before our flight to take a couple more photos since the sun was out, just to get a different perspective. When we saw the photos she captured, we were floored – some of them looked like they came straight out of a magazine! There were multiple times where I was literally clapping as I scrolled through the photos…they were just that good. We find ourselves looking back at them on multiple occasions and are having a hard time picking our top 10 favorites, because there are so many good ones!
This was our first photo shoot, and Jenna made the process seamless and easy. She was very accommodating, and coached us on how to pose and how to let our personalities show through. The shoot was so much fun and we loved her energy and ability to make us feel at ease. Jenna is not only a talented photographer, but also just a fun person to be around — we would love to work with her again in the future!
