Ok now the love between Carly and Luke is just infectious. Everyone has an opinion on soul mates, but let me tell you it exists in these two souls!!
I had the best time photographing their intimate wedding at the Wharf. The couple chose to be surrounded by their closest family members and the people most special in their hearts. I just love these intimate weddings because it really gives me a chance to get to know everyone! What an amazing family!
The fun didn’t end on the wedding day! The following day I met up with the happy couple and we drove around exploring the island while getting some stunning shots. I am ever so lucky to what I do, as I always seem to end these shoots with friends for life.
Cheers to Carly and Luke!!
Let’s start with a tough one. Describe your wedding day in 3-5 words!
Picture-perfect, dreamy, romantic, extraordinary, indescribable
The Dress. Tell me about your experience choosing it! Where did you find it, how did you choose it and how many did you try on before you found the one?
My mom, mother-in-law, grandma, aunt, cousin, and best friend joined me in my pursuit to find “the” dress. We visited a few local bridal shops and I tried on about 25 dresses. I was afraid I wouldn’t find any I liked, but instead I had the opposite problem. I found one I thought was it and almost took it home the day I spotted it. My mom told me to sleep on it, and she sent me all the photos she’d taken that day. Looking through them, I spotted a dress I couldn’t even remember trying on. I kept coming back to it and went back the next day to try it on with a fresh mind. It was most definitely “the dress!” 🙂
What made you choose your venue?
We did some online research of wedding venues in Cayman and knew we wanted somewhere with a private beach ceremony and an on-site meal reception. The Wharf was our dream come true!
Did you do a first look? Why or why not?
We opted not to – we wanted to keep things traditional and have our “first look” from down the aisle.
What specific moment will you hold onto forever?
The exchanging of our vows – the promises made to one another in those moments will be treasured for the rest of our lives.
How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
A joyous, stress-free, unforgettable experience. Grand Cayman will forever hold a special place in our hearts and we can’t wait to return for some anniversary trips!
What advice would you offer couples planning for their wedding?
A destination wedding is the way to go! After watching all of the stress and anxiety that many of our friends have experienced while wedding planning, it seemed like a no-brainer for us to do something different. We had a reception a few weeks after we returned home which was the perfect way for us to celebrate with those who could not be with us in Grand Cayman.
What photography related advice would you offer the camera shy?
Focus on your groom/bride and Jenna will take care of the rest!
How did you find me?
We did some online research of local Cayman photographers and fell in love with your portfolio!
Do you have a favorite photo? If so, which one?
Tough question! There are too many to list – we are having the hardest time deciding which ones to print and frame for our home. A few of our favorites are 1) the one of us grinning and looking at each other as we walked down the aisle, 2) the silhouette shots with the reflection on the water, 3) the shots with our entire group lined up behind us.
How was your experience taking photos with Jenna on your wedding day?
Everything we hoped for and more! We are still trying to figure out how she managed to capture every little moment in every possible angle. We are absolutely STUNNED by Jenna’s work and would recommend her to every couple!
Absolutely beautiful!!!!
