2 WORDS to describe this wedding: TROPICAL GLAM!! (Lauren’s words in what her inspiration was for planning her wedding!)
When I first met Lauren and Colin- I was so struck by how much these two truly dote on each other. You can just tell that these two truly love each other and take care of one another in their walk through life.
Lauren and Colin’s wedding was full of quirky personalized touches like pineapple bouquets, bougainvillea for floral, and stunning palm leaf stationary that really spoke to not only the venue, (Kaibo) but of the couple themselves. These two truly focused on each other during the planning of their wedding; they wanted their wedding day to truly reflect their personalities and their love journey. It was easy to tell that each guest had a special relationship with the couple. It was a running joke that the United Nations showed up, because guests flew in from all over the world to witness the union of this special couple.
I promise you will smile while going through this blog, I mean how could you not? The happiness that this couple exudes is just infectious! Cheers!

Let’s start with a tough one. Describe your wedding day in 3-5 words!
Beautiful, exhausting, memorable
The Dress. Tell me about your experience choosing it! Where did you find it, how did you choose it and how many did you try on before you found the one?
I knew that I wanted to wear gold so I searched long and hard to find the ‘right dress’ when I saw my Adriana Papell dress I knew it was the one right away.
Do you have a favorite photo? If so, which one?
I love all of our photos from the wedding, but my personal favourite is one Jonathan took of Colin getting ready. He looks so handsome in it!
Did you do a first look? Why or why not?
We did. I loved the idea of getting a few moments alone with Colin before all of the wedding madness and we got some great pics from it.
What made you choose your venue?
When Colin and I moved back here from the UK we spent a lot of time at Kaibo and I’ve always loved how private and far away from everything it is. I also liked the idea of having a venue that could take care of everything, food, beverages etc and the team at Kaibo made it easy. Special shout out to Daniel Petts and Kevin Gratton who made everything run smoothly and took care of a lot of last minute logistical issues. A wedding at Kaibo really was going further for.
How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
The planning was a bit stressful, but the day was brilliant. A lot of that was down to my man-of-honour John Fong who really took charge and made sure everything ran smoothly.
What advice would you offer couples planning for their wedding?
It’s your wedding. Have the things and people you enjoy there. Don’t do something just because ‘it’s tradition’.
What specific moment will you hold onto forever?
Colin’s vows. He’s usually pretty stoic, but they were so heartfelt that he had everyone in tears.
What photography related advice would you offer the camera shy?
Honestly, most of the time you forget the camera is there. Just enjoy every minute and be ‘in the moment’ if you’re really feeling happy the camera will capture that.
How did you find me?
Jenna was recommended to me by a co-worker who just happens to be Jenna’s childhood friend. She did an anniversary shoot with Jenna and the photos were gorgeous. We met with Jenna and then we knew right away she was the right photographer for us
How was your experience taking photos with Jenna on your wedding day?
It was brilliant. Jenna instantly makes you feel at ease. She and her husband Jonathan were great on the day and super flexible. We had a few mishaps, but her sense of humour and positive energy made everything better. We did an engagement shoot with Jenna ahead of the wedding and that also helped us to feel comfortable. If you’re one the fence about doing one I’d highly recommend it.
