Meera and Matt Part 1

Oh my goodness. There is just so much to say about this couple I don’t know where to start. Meera and Matt had a beautiful beach ceremony at the Grand Cayman Marriott surrounded by their family and closest friends.

When I first showed up at the bridal suite and met Meera, I was just so struck by not only how beautiful she is, but her calmness on her wedding day! Meera was such a divine bride, taking in her wedding day from beginning to end.

Now, Matt! Oh my goodness, talk about chivalry. Since the couple decided to do a “first-touch” at Meera’s bridal suite door, Matt decided to read her the most beautiful heartfelt poem which had myself tearing up even before we made it to the ceremony.

Needless to say, I am so glad that these two souls found one another. Check out their beautiful wedding day below.

Stay tuned for Part 2 where we head off for an amazing trash the dress session!!

Let’s start with a tough one. Describe your wedding day in 3-5 words!

Two lives perfectly completed.

The Dress. Tell me about your experience choosing it! Where did you find it, how did you choose it and how many did you try on before you found the one?

I had logged onto amazon.com one day to order something completely unrelated to the wedding when I saw a cute summer dress being advertised on one of amazon’s affiliated clothing boutiques called shopbop.com. I clicked on the advertisement to find the cute sundress that caught my eye and as I was scrolling, I saw this dress and fell in love with it, could picture myself in it, and just knew it was perfect for our beach wedding. Within 5 minutes, the dress was ordered. I’m terrible at making decisions and it was the quickest, decision I ever made regarding something this important.

Did you do a first look? Why or why not?

We did not. But we did do a first touch. We wanted to be traditional and have the anticipation of seeing each other when Meera was walking down the aisle.

What photography related advice would you offer the camera shy?

Find a photographer who isn’t afraid to just tell you what to do and pose you! Jenna made it so easy!

What specific moment will you hold onto forever?

Meera: Matt’s Vows. They were the sweetest, most affirming words I’ve ever heard. I’ll never forget them.

Matt: Seeing Meera come down the aisle. It was a dream come true and seeing her in her wedding dress for the first time took my breath away.

What made you choose your venue?

Matt and I got engaged in Grand Cayman and almost as soon as we saw the beach, we knew we wanted to get married there. We saw a couple of weddings taking place at the Marriott and we just knew we wanted to have it there.

Do you have a favorite photo? If so, which one?

Jenna had sent us a preview of one shot the very next day so we could announce our marriage. Matt was picking Meera up and spinning her with the ocean in the background and we look so happy. The photo was breathtaking with her use of natural lighting.

How would you describe your overall wedding experience?

It was a blur. You spend months planning this one day and until it’s passed, you don’t realize how quickly it flies by and it really was such a blur. But overall, it was amazing and we loved every minute of it. I got to spend an entire evening with my favorite people in the world including my new bet friend for life.

What advice would you offer couples planning for their wedding?

Remember that your wedding is your special day and should be everything that you want it to be, not what other people think it should be. Make sure that you invite those people who are special to you and supportive of your relationship because you will be pulled in many directions by the people attending. I would also say to work as a team to plan the wedding because it is a lot of work and could be a source of stress and conflict. And don’t let the family drama affect your special day! Avoid inviting toxic people at all costs!

How was your experience taking photos with Jenna on your wedding day?

She was SO amazing and so incredibly sweet and fun to work with! She went above and beyond. Not only is she as talented as they come, she was kind and thoughtful. She even helped me get taped into my dress!
