Rachelle and Ryan had a stunning intimate wedding at the Westin here in Grand Cayman. Rachelle wore a stunning beachy gown while Ryan made sure to bring his leather boots to wear in the sand. Not only is this couple stunning, they are in absolute love with one another.
The highlight of the day was their first dance, when they danced to Peter Gabriel’s ‘Book of Love.’ The couple danced with tears in their eyes and everyone watched with so much love in their hearts.
Cheers to this sweet couple! XO Jenna
Let’s start with a tough one. Describe your wedding day in 3-5 words!
Perfect, magical, sweet.
The Dress. Tell me about your experience choosing it! Where did you find it, how did you choose it and how many did you try on before you found the one?
I had a lot going on with a demanding career and getting my MBA on weekends, I thought it would be easy to find a simple yet elegant dress for the beach, but I was so wrong. I went to at least 5 places in Dallas where it seemed big ball gowns were all they carried. I was recommended to Stardust Bridal in Plano by a salesperson at one of those boutiques saying they had a large selection and would be the only ones around who may carry what I was looking for. I tried on the Kelly Faetanin with the open back and fell in love immediately.
What photography related advice would you offer the camera shy?
I am not photogenic or comfortable around cameras. The best shots were when I wasn’t trying to pose and naturally smiling. So I would say relax and be in the moment. Jenna also does an incredible job so you are in good hands!
What made you choose your venue?
Ryan and I wanted to get married somewhere beautiful and on the water, surrounded by our nearest and dearest. We thought of Mexico and scoped out La Jolla, but neither felt like “the place”. We had both visited Grand Cayman separately when we were younger, Ryan on a diving trip as a teenager, and me as a stop on a cruise, and remembered how beautiful the water was. Ryan found the Westin and we decided to go for it. Best decision as we both felt like our wedding and wedding weekend was perfect. We chartered two boats the day after our wedding to swim with the stingrays, visit beaches, and snorkel and it kept the happy times going.
Did you do a first look? Why or why not?
No, Ryan and I both didn’t want to feel like we were taken away from our celebrating or natural events. Ryan wanted our first time to see each other to be when I walked down the isle with my Dad.
How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
We had an intimate wedding that was made more perfect and happy with the celebration of loved ones surrounding us. It was the perfect start to our life together.
Do you have a favorite photo? If so, which one?
The one Jenna chose for our cover or any one where Ryan is hugging me haha. His hugs are the best.
How was your experience taking photos with Jenna on your wedding day?
Great! She was professional and rolled with whatever was happening.
What advice would you offer couples planning for their wedding?
Do it somewhere beautiful like Grand Cayman and you can’t go wrong!
What specific moment will you hold onto forever?
Our first dance together as a married couple to our song, “Book of Love” by Peter Gabriel, surrounded by our closest family and friends.
How did you find me?
The web. I saw your portfolio and loved it. You really captured the love in your photos.
