I am so excited to share the intimate celebration of Stacey and James at LUCA located inside the boutique hotel Caribbean Club here in Grand Cayman!
As soon as I walked into the bridal suite, I fell in love with Stacey! Not only was she a beautiful bride on her wedding day, but she is probably the sweetest and kindest person you will ever meet! This day was full of laughs, from the groom and groomsmen wearing the ladies’ silk kimonos to the girls jumping for joy on the beach, we all had so much fun! I truly felt like I was one of the ‘crew!’
You can really tell that Stacey and James truly treasure each other and the friends and family that surrounded them on their special day.
Cheers to the Mr & Mrs. And never forget to “Seas the Day!”
Let’s start with a tough one. Describe your wedding day in 3-5 words!
Best day of our lives!!
What photography related advice would you offer the camera shy?
Just let Jenna work her magic! Seriously she was amazing! All we had to do was follow her instructions and our pictures are more beautiful than I could ever have imagined. She really captured the happiness of our day.
The Dress. Tell me about your experience choosing it! Where did you find it, how did you choose it and how many did you try on before you found the one?
Myself, one of my bridesmaids and two other friends met up in NYC for the dress shopping and I can honestly say we had a blast! The dress I wore was the third one I tried on and we all just new that was the one for me. There was no way I was going to let getting married outside in Cayman in August keep me from my princess dress and I sure didn’t . We bought the dress right then and there and celebrated with lunch and pink bubbles followed by the most hilarious designer dress shopping session ever. It is so much fun trying on dresses especially after you have found the one and the pressure if off.
What advice would you offer couples planning for their wedding?
Relax! We had a torrential down pour only an hour before our ceremony and had to adjust our location, but I refused to let that phase me, after all this is about us and making a commitment to each other with our family and closest friends there to share the moment with us. We could have done that anywhere and it would be just as special. So focus on the true meaning of the day and celebrate your love and you will never be disappointed.
What made you choose your venue?
The location is beautiful and the staff, service and food at Luca never disappoints. We also loved that we could have the venue to ourselves for the evening.
Did you do a first look? Why or why not?
No, I wanted him to see me first as I was coming down the aisle to be his wife and the look on his face was so worth it! I did do a first look with my dad which was such an incredibly special moment for us. Just make sure you have waterproof mascara on!
What specific moment will you hold onto forever?
James’ first words to me when I stepped next to him to say our vows and he held my hands for the first time and said “Why is your engagement ring on the other hand? Is everything okay? In that moment he put all my nerves at ease and made it all about us and who we are as a couple. He has made me smile and laugh every single day we have shared together and I love how in that moment it was no different. I really have married my best friend.
How would you describe your overall wedding experience?
Amazing!!! I honestly loved absolutely every second of our wedding day. I would marry him all over again every day if I could.
How did you find me?
You were actually referred by friends who had hired you to do their wedding and as a result of their amazing photos I had been following your blog for about a year and loved every single shot I saw.
How was your experience taking photos with Jenna on your wedding day?
Fantastic! She was kind, funny and did what was needed to get all of the pictures in.
Do you have a favorite photo? If so, which one?
Honestly, there are so many good ones it is really hard to pick a favorite……I also couldn’t pick a favorite moment of our day and the pictures truly do capture it all so well.
